A Digital Assistant for the Internet Age

April 4, 2010

Imagine a scrapbook powered by the Internet, in which you can save all the bits of information you use every day — appointments, photos, contact information, recipes, maps, and coupons — on as many pages as you need, all stored on the cellphone in your pocket and on the Internet.

That’s the promise of a young company in Charlestown called Spring Partners Inc., which has released a product it says is the next generation of digital assistant.

“Now that the Internet has turned into the repository of all the information that’s important to me, there’s space for products like Springpad that will help me organize and connect to that information,’’ said Tim Bajarin, president of Creative Strategies Inc., a technology consulting firm in Campbell, Calif.

Whether Springpad attracts a critical mass of customers, Bajarin said, the information overload spawned by the Internet will demand Web-friendly organizers.
