My Strengths and Weaknesses

What do I have to offer?

I believe I have all of traits listed in

what I’m looking for in a companion
, with the exception of femininity and a little black dress. (I wouldn’t look good in a little black dress.) In particular I offer:

  1. Exceptional intelligence; some might say scary smart (you don’t get accepted to graduate school at Harvard without a B.A. without being pretty bright)
  2. Wide range of intellectual interests
  3. Great sense of humor
  4. I’m very attentive.
  5. I’m very emotionally communicative. Unlike most guys, I crave intimacy and have no problems sharing my feelings.
  6. I’m extremely affectionate — I love to cuddle for hours.
  7. I’m a hopeless romantic. As Christian asserted to Toulousse, “Above all, I believe in love.”
  8. I believe in chivalry.
  9. I’m very loyal.
  10. I take the initiative. Unlike a lot of guys in Boston, if I’m interested in you, I step up to the plate and will pursue you actively.
  11. I will be your best friend as well as your lover.

What are your weaknesses?

I have lots of weaknesses. You, as potential girlfriend, are literally the last person I will tell them to. You’ll have to find out about them as you get to know me.

OK, I’ll disclose one of them — I tend to write profiles that are too long.

If you’re not going to tell me about your weaknesses, tell me about your quirks

I have lots of them also, but as with my weaknesses, you’re going to have to find out about them as you get to know me.

OK, I’ll mention one. I’ve always been envious that women have purses into which they can put all of their stuff. I have this maroon portfolio/carry case I use, which holds my wallet, car keys, cell phone, business cards, pens, etc. I take it with me most of the time. My friends are merciless about teasing me about this — ”You don’t take that on dates, do you? It looks like you are coming from a business meeting. She’s going to think you’re a nerd.” But it’s so darn practical, and the alternative is to stuff my pockets with my keys, wallet, cell phone, etc., which makes my pockets bulge. So in most cases I bring it with me, even on dates.

I figure that if she’s going to reject me based on that, she’s not Miss Right.
